I think the movement for the spaceship is too smooth, it needs to be more fast in terms of the acceleration to feel more like an 8-bit game.

Very nice! I love retro pixel games! Perhaps you can add more enemy variety such as smaller/faster/weaker enemies or wall-mounted turrets or slow/gigantic ships? Also, the enemy bullets were a bit hard to see. All in all, it was a fun experience!
