If you use Sonic Wind while running down the building, from that point on, Sonic will walk on air instead triggering the spinning or falling animation.

If you roll under the fence right before the G.U.N. truck chase section, then roll back and keep going back through the level, you'll eventually reach a spot where a huge chunk of the level has disappeared.
