Miner dwarf

Safety is important for Dwarf miners. Always stay together, don't get picked off by what may lurk beneath. Watch out for pockets of flammable gas, and don't eat any mushrooms you can't identity as edible. Never leave dynamite by an open flame!

There are many things a Dwarf miner will want to acquire down in the depths. Gold is popular, yes, but so is silver and iron, as is copper and various precious gems and geodes. Oil is great for fuel, and fossils fetch a good price with museums.

Imagine how badly vampires could destroy a Dwarf Hold. They could be active any time, and working to silently infect the hold's food supply. I heard it happens in Dwarf Fortress, with bloodthirsty maniacs making holds into tombs/charnel houses.

Something horrific I realized. Vampirism would explode amongst the violent, subterranean society of goblins, without the threat of sunlight or wood to make stakes. Dwarf Holds deep under the mountain would be dealing with Vampires like zombie apocalypse.
