Not exactly cheap, but VYZiUM- has a chip thats called "Remix of View Detection" it can also adjust to FOV.
It just needs a Laser Scope to detect walls in view like yours.

For many objects, you could use one large cone shaped trigger zone that covers the screen completely to match the labels to the desired objects. There will be some overshoot on each side but that can be helpful for something like culling.

The only way is Raycast, which is what you're doing.
But what I would do is have a Laser Scope at the light, point towards the camera tag, have a Trigger Zone follow the Hit Position, Trigger Zone detects sculpture named Camera, if true, display vfx.
