The laser emit points are too far apart. It's easy to cheese for any duration if you bounce in the right spot for long enough (such as the middle).
I recommend either making the emit locations closer together, or dynamic, then resetting the scoreboard.

Movement feels weird. The square doesn't jump in the direction you push the left stick because gravity is acting at the same time. I think gravity should be removed and acceleration should be gradual.
