You're able to jump and pick up a box at the same time. Was able to do the first test by climbing the stairs with one box. Grabbing boxes can be finicky, holding the square button for too long after you pick it up will make you drop it.

If you keep pushing forward while entering or exiting the test areas, the scene transition doesn't work properly.
