The controls are fine for me. I will say however that the levels themselves are pretty bland and have instances of poor design

Great fun! The level design is unique and interesting. Sonic‘s jump/movement physics could be refined to be a bit less floaty and the addition of rings would be nice, but otherwise nice job.
