Currently, bokeh will just kinda hang there, but is affected by the player pushing the sticks around. As far as I can see from my testing, there is no way of the creator blocking the sticks from doing this, or controlling the movement of the bokeh. A feature to let us do this would be great for artists and creators.
(Curiously the player control over the bokeh doesn't match how they would normally move with camera controls or puppet controls. Left stick rotates and right stick pans--as if it's flipped. So the movement of the bokeh doesn't help smooth over the transition between moving the camera/puppet and changing to another scene or shot.)
I've ordered the features by easiest to implement with highest impact and most likely to be used:
- The X/Y direction 2D-graph setting that's already in the wiper settings could be used to set a direction the bokeh will float in.
- A switch to be able to block the built-in player control over bokeh movement.
- The bokeh can also rotate, so maybe a second 2D-graph setting could be added for this.
Potentially, the direction/rotation could be set using a gizmo, when player control is blocked. But that may be more work.
The same settings/changes should also apply to the doorway wiper, but I'm guessing that's no biggie.
I can imagine people moving the bokeh up when the camera view is sinking under the ocean. Or black bokeh circles float in from the side of the view from a shadowy figure to accentuate a scene. Things like this.
