This way you can apply effects only to a specific group. Now I don't know how feasible that is, but I would be amazing to have.

Now obviously not all settings can applied to a local object, like pincushion, but the are others that would be very helpful. For example:

ghosting only applied to a sword
Motion Blur only applied to actual moving objects instead of smearing the whole screen
using color settings to make cell shaded characters
