In-scene text that moves, even with the camera, blurs at the edges if there's some amount of motion blur for the scene. This is often not what the creator wants, as it's most often used for UI elements--which wouldn't blur in most games.
If this was a setting, we could turn motion blur off for a given text gadget. And if it was on all objects, we could turn it off for any object we want to use as UI, or really for any reason. It would open up a lot of flexibility and subtle control over how our games look.
