Voting in community jams is objectively un-fun.

Voter turnout must be fairly low for completely irrelevant submissions to rank higher in jam results than entries that are legitimate attempts at the prompt. I'm willing to bet that the reason is because voting has become such a poor experience for the player.

I propose that MM curators (Ally, Jacob, etc) do a first pass through submissions before they're shown to players in order to remove submissions in any of the following categories:

  • Copyright/IP violations (e.g. Sonic, Mario, etc)
  • Completely irrelevant (e.g. An empty scene, an element/sculpture of a heart in the "Make a choice" jam, etc)
  • Break the rules of conduct (e.g. excessive violence, racial slurs, etc)

I beg of you, please trim the fat.

Your players will thank you, and your voter turnout will be much higher.

It's time to make the jams less of a joke and more of an interesting and prestigious event.
