There are things that can be added to scenes and elements that count against per dream limits. For example, persistent variables have a limit of 128 per dream, and I think scoreboards also have a limit per dream - not sure what that limit is. But an element can be included in any number of scenes, and a scene can be included in any number of dreams, so including per dream limits in the thermo that gets displayed when editing a scene or an element raises the question "which dream?"

To answer that question, edit mode for scenes and elements could have a "reference dream" setting that would tell the thermo which dream to use when including per dream limits in its calculations. If the creation being edited was reached by navigating from a dream's genealogy, that dream would be a good choice for the inital value of the reference dream setting - but the user should still be allowed to change it to any other dream while in edit mode, because the creation might already be included in multiple dreams, or they might be planning to include it in multiple dreams.
