I dont know how everyone feels about this, but there are some real 911 calls being uploaded to Dreams that are being used in horror games. To my mind this is in poor taste as many of these 911 calls represent the worst day of someone's life when they were stressed, frightened, and desperately wanting help - they are not "entertainment".
It may be that Dreamers are not understanding that these are real calls and not clips from a movie or acted out specifically for Dreams, however a little bit of Google research and you can often find out that they are real calls.
Recent Dreams game Animal by bleachedsmiles uses a call from 2011 by Teresa Middleton to the Colorado police about an intruder breaking into her house. Luckily the police arrived in time before anyone was hurt. However I do not think this woman's call is a suitable audio for a game in Dreams, but there is no criteria under which I can report the game. The game itself is well made, it is just the use of this audio file which I think is inappropriate. Nobody involved in this call as had the opportunity to approve the use, and would be unlikely to I suspect.
I reported a game in 2020 for containing a 911 call from a man who had killed his family. The audio actually plays out sounds of his suicide, which I thought was highly inappropriate to make into a game. I reported it but the report was rejected as it did not breach anything apparently.
Should the use of real audio of people contacting police and ambulance services, being attacked, killing themselves, or dying be allowed in Dreams creations? Isn't this in extremely bad taste?
