There's a ton of controller shortcuts (or hidden UI behaviors) in Dreams that are not easily learned from in-game tutorials or tool-tips. I think it would be wonderful to have a thread where people can share interesting 'hidden' features involving controls (and UI) that they learn as they create in Dreams or learn from other creators.
I'll start with 3 different examples to get the ball rolling.
When using the DualShock4 (or DualSense) controller, you can "Reel" an object to reposition it further from or closer to your current edit-mode 'camera' position. To do so, first pick up an object (sculpt, paint, gadget, group) using R2. While continuing to hold R2, begin to hold the Options button (as you would to recenter an imp). While holding both R2 and Options, use the Left analog stick Up/Down to Reel the object either farther or closer.
Next up, the "extrude" feature. I can't actually articulate what this feature is good for, but it's an example of a feature of the UI rather than a contextual button combination. In sculpt mode, if you stretch a shape to make it so thin that it disappears, when you go to "stamp" the shape you will have switched into extrude mode and can simply drag shapes of an arbitrary length, maintaining the other dimensions of the shape before it was flattened.
(Bonus example of a secret UI feature: dragging boxes to multi-select notes in a piano roll, by holding X over the Left or Top 'edge' of the timeline window (the piano notes, or the measures/time).
And lastly, an example of functionality here on the InDreams site which is not widely known. If you open the tweak page of a text gadget in edit mode in Dreams, and then edit the text field of the text gadget, InDreams will offer you an "import text" option via your browser to the text gadget. You can use this on any device with a web browser that supports InDreams, and it's a great alternative to typing with a controller.
I hope more Dreamers will share their favorite or most obscure shortcuts and 'hidden' features here, and that we all learn a ton!
