The big step that Dreams deserves as an Engine (because it's so awesome) in a mid or long term future is it to be realized as a professional games and applications development engine.
My (possible ludicrous) vision for this is to ahve a Dreams Pro version that comes without direct access to the dreamiverse.
Developers whould be able to create games and assets in Dreams Pro and could release their games on PSN (or even other platforms) - all strings attached of course, just like every other developer whould have to.
Meanwhile all assets created on Dreams Pro could be offered on a Dreams Pro marketplace, creating a viable option for monetization for dedicated content creators.
But as Dreams should remain the wonderful and low cost playground for creativity it is, it shouldn't suffer by a Dreams Pro release.
To the contrary the recreational version of Dreams should offer all assets released on the Dreams Pro marketplace for free in the dreamiverse - thereby enriching the Dreamiverse with content and offering creators to test new assets before buying them for their pro creation.
Meanwhile all games created on Dreams Pro could be sized down to demos by their creators and offered to be played for free in the regular Dreams version, creating a further influx of bitesized Dreams to play and the chance for Pro creators to increase intrest in their Product
