Item being reported:

I've been trying to draw some custom text and I'm having difficulty keeping all the strokes on the same z-axis. I'm having to manually move and line them up afterwards, which is proving quite tedious.

I've experimented with various guide settings but I'm not sure if one is appropriate for fixing the z-axis. I'm also painting with all other elements in the scene hidden.
