Does someone know how to tame emitters? I have been having all kinds of issues with the emitted object changing positions depending on whether I connect it to the emitter or not (the latter of which I have to do to change parameters after the fact.

Now, without any discernible reason, unhooking the emitted object straight up makes it disappear (or, likely, zoom somewhere I can't find it). Any ideas?
