I've seen a lot of people confused about spraypainting here, and I was too, because I could not spraypaint any of my creations AT ALL. However, I figured it out.

If you're like me, while or right after you're sculpting, you'll go into the Coat Mode and tint your creation to experiment with colors and textures. This will affect your sculpture's tint value, and MM have really not explained this in-game at all:

If you HAVE tinted your sculpture, exit back to the default mode in Creation. Hold L1 and press square on your sculpture to pull up Outer Properties [this will look like a dripping paint can). The very first slider will be at 200%. This needs to be brought down to 0%. You also may need to bring up the second slider (a cloud and rainbow) to 100% to increase your Original Colour Saturation.

Now, go into sculpt mode and Scope in (L1+X) to the sclupture. In the sculpt mode sub-mode menu, select the Spraypaint option. Select your brush shape and color (MEDIA MOLECULE: PLEASE MAKE THIS SAVE THE LAST COLOR USED, FOR FRICKS SAKE) and then start painting the surface of your sculpture.
