I'm new to the beta and I'm trying to figure out puppets and joints at the moment. I've created a fairly simple sculpt of a praying mantis that I now want to puppet. After some trial and error, I've got the upper body mostly working with all of the individual joints moving how I want them.
My problem starts when I want to move certain body parts, or joints, without moving its parent. I loaded in the deluxe puppet to compare and I noticed that if you move the head, or an arm, the upper body doesn't move. I'm assuming it's to avoid what happens in the video I've attached. If I try to move the head or arms on my puppet, the parent torso moves as well. This movement in turn "leaves behind" any other children of the torso.
I tried to inspect each element of the example puppet to see what settings are different than mine. I couldn't find anything obvious so that's why I'm here.
Any help would be appreciated.
