Perhaps there's an easy answer to this, but it has me stumped.

I have a signal generator which is putting out a fast blinking signal, and a second signal which counts 0, 1, 2 in a cycle. I want the first signal to travel down one of three wires depending on the value of the second. I thought a select gadget would be ideal for this with the acive port input controlling which port carried the signal, but I get incredibly weird behaviour - see the video.

What's actually going on here, first of all? Also, how can I get the blinking signal to only output from each port in turn?
