I'm using a laser scope to function kind of like an actual laser scope on a weapon. I've been playing with and it seems that turning on the 'Local' setting in no way makes the measurements from the outputs local to the attached object.

For instance, if I've set up the scope to point directly parallel to the barrel of the gun, and it's set to be local to that barrel, then surely X and Y measurements of Hit Location would always be zero and it's just the Z measurement that would change as the hit location changes? But it definitely does not work like that.

Not sure if I'm missing something but if anyone is able to explain this, I'd really like to understand so I can use the figures to achieve what I want to do.
