Unlink the object from the emitter by pressing triangle on the button. Then group the scaling object with something else. This can be as simple as an empty microchip. Now the scaling will happen *within* that group. So if the group is moved, or emitted in a different place, it will scale in that position. Next just link it up again and it should work as expected.
