Do you want it to just be held by the puppet's hand as you walk around? If so, there are 2 ways:
Have another copy in the hand of the puppet that is hidden. When you pick the object up, hide the object in the world and turn on the object in the hand.
Have a tag in the puppet's hand, and a teleporter on the object (with match position and match orientation). Turn the teleporter on when you want it to be in the hand. You'll probably need to turn collision with the puppet off so it doesn't freak out while holding it, also.
