I don't know for sure what your talking about. I did go back and ungroup the hand from puppet. The hand move but nothing else.
What I did from there was took the puppet from the logic interface and then went back to my old idea of keyframe the moveble on and off. And then use a grab sener to activate moveable on but when let go to unmovable. I got a little bit more success. The arm still wiggles but only when I am grabbing.
