To connect two levels they have to be saved as scenes. If you created a whole level in the contraption or the character creation places (like I did), you will have to stamp them into a scene, then save the scene. Then you can create a dream (the last option in start from scratch) and input multiple scenes and link them together in the order that you want. As far as load screens go, I think dreams loads the next level while you are playing the first, so it should be a relatively seamless transition.
