What stew suggested works, if you want specific beats, you can use a key frame, place it to record, and in the properties panel of the object, yeet the luminosity slider to the value you want. After doing so, the slider should have dashed lines going across it. Stop recording. Place in timeline. You can also make another keyframe by wiggling the luminosity slider at zero(or a lower value than the one you set for your other keyframe). You can then place this keyframe before and/or after the original keyframe, and with L1+X you can then change the ease so that the glow on beat isn't simply a bright flash.
