Yes, just make sure that the rotator is stuck to or referencing the group, and not objects inside the group.

The only down side to this is that rotators will always rotate around their centre of mass. If this is a problem you can try to stabilise your bolt joints by adding multiple bolt joints onto your object and by reducing the weight of the object attached to the bolt. Removing gravity on the objects also helps but you may want that on for other reasons.
