Hi there,
You could power off the action recorder/possession recorder/keyframe/timeline that the animation is within, or a simpler way would be place a microchip in your scene, and power it off and put all the animations you've created in there, that way when you drag them out of the microchip they'll be powered on :)
At least for while you're making them before you're triggering them from logic/button presses.
