Hi,

The reason a puppet stands in thin air is so when you publish a level with just a puppet in it you can play it and see it work without instantly falling.
So when starting your level make sure the puppet is on something right at the start, even if you delete it straight after.
As for the falling that is the auto fall death. If you look inside the puppet logic at the control sensor you can see the fell out of scene output weird into the kill input.
Just delete that wire if you want to fall without dying.
