I can feel you pain. It took me like 5 hours to feel comfortable playing.
But here's some tips before you do anything just play all the tutorials except audio and animation save those for later when you start creating
After that go into a world and start with something simple like a egg.
Then try to get used to blending wheb see to make some anything you want really.
And throughout out all of this make great use of the L1 camera control and R1 control.
These two buttons help you to really get used to the controls, L1 helps you move on planes. Say your making something but you hate how the imp moves in and out, while your scultping hold L1 while you do it so you only create the plane you see.
If you want a top view hold R1 and get it where you want then hold L1 once you start sculpting. Remember though make sure your imp is on the right plane before you start.
Also make sure you reposition your imp Everytime you use L1 after a while and also when you reposition your hands
And don't give up and keep trying, pretty soon the controls will feel great and start to make sense. Even when they make the option to disable motion controls I will gladly keep them.
If you look at my profile you'll see one of my first post was me saying how much those controls sucked but now I love them!
