Move the helmet into the puppet's group like this:

Grab it by holding R2

While holding R2, scope into the puppet with L1+X.

If you deleted the head, you'll also need to connect the helmet to the neck by creating a ball joint in the gadgets menu. Otherwise you could just group it with the existing head sculpt by scoping into the head sculpt while grabbing the helmet like I described above.
