In edit mode, you can turn on the sidebar. Tweak the timeline, look on the second tab (?) near the bottom for a "three sliders" icon button. Switching that on will show 2 buttons to the left of each row: solo, and power.

I don't think you can manipulate those with wires, however. So if that's what you wanted, I'd recommend just putting a "row" in a nested timeline.
