If you know where the player will be when you want a camera to be active, you can place the trigger zone there, and stretch out the sides so it covers the right area.
One tip is to scope in (L1 + X) to the camera itself to go into that view perspective. Then scope out (L1 + O). Now you're still looking from that angle, and can move things around in the scene and get a sense of whether the zone is covering what you need it to cover.
