Like TAP said, if you place a sun/sky gadget in a scene, the scene should load with it started. No transition should be visible. You definitely don't want it on a timeline or affected by any keyframes unless you want a transition. I would just plunk it anywhere in the scene. Not in a microchip, so you know it's not affected by any other logic.
I would also look for other sun/sky gadgets. Lots of people include them in their puppets and elements. So if you used something from the dreamerverse, there could be another one hidden somewhere, fighting against the one you placed.
Also, the wiper gadget is designed to turn the screen black, and will work much smoother for hiding transitions than using a text gadget.
