Tips for painting:
1. If you want a solid colour with no variation then you can use the colour wheel in the objects tweak menu.With 200% saturation you will not be able to see any spraypainting on your model.
2. If you want to spraypaint, DO NOT use coat mode first - any coat will put the tint amount up to the maximum and you will not be able to see your spraypaint
3. Make sure you are scoped into the object you want to spraypaint or it will not work (even though you can hear the spray)
4. For surface designs, such as writing or texturing use the Surface snap button in the Guides menu so that your brush paints only on the surface of your shape.
5. There is a limit to how many shapes of colour you can use. The thermometer for this only appears when you have reached a very high amount and are about to go over. Watch for this. If you max out the number of shapes you cannot add any more, and it is not possible to remove coloured shapes other than to rewind with the left D pad (and you have a limit on how many times you can do that).
6. Sometimes the colour you have chosen does not select. Make sure your chosen colour is in the palette indicator before starting to paint.
7.Experiment with shape, blend and opacity to get different effects.
8. If you chose a base colour for your shapes when sculpting it makes it easier to paint afterwards, especially if you have multiple layers within the same sculpt (getting a spraypaint brush into a small area can be tricky).
9. Note that different texture styles also affect how the colour looks. For example shiny wax makes the colours slightly yellow, while rough metal darkens them considerably (white becomes dark grey for example)..
10. Changing the shape of the brush will reset all your blend settings, so be careful that you check the settings are how you want them before painting.
