Sculpts don't have transparency settings, but there are a few different ways I've found to handle it for different scenarios.

But depending on the shape of your lamp, here are some ideas:
- Make certain parts glow (like the lampshade itself) using Glow in the object's settings
- Shine light through holes in the top and bottom of the lampshade by making a lightbulb glow or by adding spotlights if you want it to be more controlled.
- If you really need a part to be transparent so you can see things on the other side of it, you can experiment with Paint fleck transparency and draw a "surface" over the part you want to be able to see through. (Remember, Paint strokes don't cast shadows.)
- I've even experimented with zones of Fog to create hazy colored, diffused areas, but that might not be too useful for a lampshade...
