I think you can work around it by saving car B as a local object.
Then go edit the source of car A. Delete car A and replace it with car B. Upload changes to the cloud version, and then probably delete the local version of car B.
When you have finished, car A is now car B. If you ever want car A back, you can look at the versions of that creation and load it back before you replaced it with car B.
