Make sure the tint in each object is reset to default (press triangle over the tint amount slider) as this can ovverride the paint on an object. This probs isn’t your issue but worth checking.
You can only paint an object whentunneled into it, exactly the same as when sculpting, you can only sculpt on one object at a time.
Press L1 + x over the circle to tunnel into it and you should be able to paint on it.
