I applied the looping slices method and published the instrument as "Solo Violin Sustain Deluxe", in case anyone wants to try it. It's tricky to get the loop points right to avoid buzzing artifacts, so I had to delete some alternate takes that just didn't work. It's still not perfect, but it works well enough.
