So if you have a brush on your imp and haven't stamped it at all the grid can affect the stretching of all shapes while editing it (via L1 and square) however there are two shapes that don't allow you to use the grid or precise move to help out your editing of the shape which is the pyramid and the curve tool as they have a different style of editing that isn't via stretching in the same way.
