Hi there!

Of the lovely elements we give you some have different auto guides to others based off the kind of element they are, so you may notice that some objects will snap to the ground, but not all, like you're experiencing.

So if for example you've completed the Creating Art Imp quest and gotten the prizes from the Painting tutorial you'll find they snap as they're objects that you would want snapped to the ground.

If you find the inconsistency a little strange and it's causing you hassle to decorate your homespace it's definitely worth making a post in feedback :).
