Yeah, I think this is called "bouncing" (or flattening?), where the track is turned into a simple audio file. It's been requested before too.
I've heard of people trying to "bounce" their Dreams audio and re-import; I think that should work fine :D
None of this would necessarily save much on memory though... or at least, you'd just be using less gameplay thermo in exchange for more audio thermo. Also I'm not sure how this would help with performance necessarily. If you like, you can tell me about the perf problems; maybe I'll be able to give you some pointers to fix them.
